Paper is a male contestant on Inanimate Insanity and Inanimate Insanity IV.
Paper's lack of work ethic on Team Epic caused him to be the first contestant eliminated in "A Lemony Lesson" after losing a tiebreaker challenge against Knife after a 3-3-1 vote. During his time on Idiotic Island, his mental state deteriorated, even into his return to the game in "Double Digit Desert." His mental state improved over time with the help of OJ, but he was voted out in "The Penultimate Poll" by the eliminated contestants for being a follower, eliminating him a second time one episode before the finale.
Though not chosen to compete in Inanimate Insanity II, he appeared as a supporting character in a few episodes.
He is currently competing in Inanimate Insanity IV as a member of Heavy Metal Pop Stars. He is currently voiced by Jackson S.

Personality
At the beginning of the series, Paper was a friendly, innocent contestant. This is most clearly seen when he hangs out with Knife and watches Desperate Housewives instead of doing the challenge in "A Lemony Lesson". However, his trusting nature made him an easy target for Knife's bullying, so he was eliminated first as Knife aggressively shoved him off the metal platform and threw things at him until he fell into the water.
It was clear that his long stay on Idiotic Island affected his mental health greatly. In addition to exacerbating his anger issues, he also split an alter. This alter, Evil Paper, tended to be violent and murderous, such as when he threw OJ out of his boat in "Aquatic Conflict". Paper expressed remorse for many of Evil Paper's actions, confused by why they were happening and believing they were his fault. Later, with OJ's help, Paper figured out that he was triggered by the words "Idiotic Island" and strove to fix his mental health problem. Paper is somewhat self-centered and attention-seeking. A notable instance of this was in "The Tile Divide", when he was ranting about possibly getting eliminated while drinking orange juice, not noticing OJ's sickness from the lack of it. This was out of obliviousness though, not malice, and he apologized and pledged his allegiance to OJ later on. He also let him win the immunity to drive in that he was genuine about his apology. Another example of his attention-seeking tendencies is in "Double Digit Desert", where he dramatically told OJ to go on without him when he got stuck to a cactus, then got upset when OJ didn't save him.
Although he is not much of a leader, Paper seems to be both responsible and good at expressing himself. He is responsible enough to stand in for OJ at the complaints desk in the first issue of Inanimate Comics, and is well-spoken enough to represent OJ as his attorney in "Everything's A-OJ". Paper also takes charge of Hotel OJ while OJ is away for Inanimate Insanity Invitational, though he is eventually overthrown by Salt and Pepper.
Paper has been shown to be quite physically strong, being able to hang onto a wet metal pole in "A Lemony Lesson", tanking a bowling ball, an apple, Taco, and a full dolphin in a row, and having the capability to beat up and tear Pickle in half with ease (Evil Paper was the one who did this, but the strength is still possible for Paper, as it's from their shared body).
As of now, Paper seems to have grown into a much more confident individual, being able to stand up for himself and not get pushed around. He still keeps his enthusiastic, friendly personality, but he is more outspoken and not as afraid to speak what is on his mind. He tends to be anxious or even disrespectful around individuals he does not trust, such as with Poppy or MeTag, due to his trauma from Meeple. This aforementioned trauma caused him to have an outburst at Poppy after misinterpreting the message accidentally recorded by Tapey, and as he always was quite nervous and on edge even prior to the Inanimate Insanity II Movie, where most of the trauma that causes him to be distrustful of those he associates with Cobs or Meeple occurred. As of currently, he has recognized his wrongful actions with the help of OJ and has befriended Poppy and MeTag, even helping MeTag escape from Bow by standing at a side angle to seem invisible.

Trivia
Comparison
- Paper is one of the few paper-related objects to exist while competing on the show. The others are Fan, Box, and Jack.
- Paper, Jack and Balloon are the only lightweight contestants, as Paper and Jack are both flat, and Balloon can slow down his fall.
Competition
- Paper is one of the eleven pre-Invitational contestants to be eliminated due to other contestants rather than viewer voting. The others are Baseball, OJ, Taco, Balloon (twice), Dough, Suitcase, Nickel (twice), Paintbrush, Fan, and Test Tube.
- Paper is the only contestant who was eliminated by eliminated contestants.
- Paper, Nickel and Balloon are the only contestants who have been eliminated twice due to contestant voting.
- Paper is the only pre-Invitational contestant to be on multiple teams in Inanimate Insanity.
- Paper is the highest-ranking contestant to originally come from Team Epic.
- Paper is the only contestant on Team Epic to not join Inanimate Insanity II.
- Balloon is the inverse of his case since he was the only member of Team Chickenleg to join.
- Paper was the only contestant to rejoin out of MePhone4's own volition.
- Though Lightbulb and Suitcase also rejoined, these occasions were due to miscounted votes and a random elimination by OJ, respectively.
- This title has since been changed due to the rejoin of Cabby and Blueberry, as MePhone4 was convinced by Walkie-Talkie and was not forced to let them rejoin.
- Paper is also the only male to join or rejoin in the middle of the game. The other rejoiners, Lightbulb, Apple, Bow, Cabby, and Suitcase, are all female.
- This has since been changed due to Blueberry rejoining in "Blue Buried". This means both the first and last/most recent rejoiners are males.
- Paper has been noted for his similarities to Mike from Total Drama: Revenge Of The Island, because both have alters that are defeated in similar ways.
- Paper's arc was planned when he was confirmed to rejoin, which was several months before Total Drama: Revenge of the Island began airing. Paper confronted Evil Paper in an episode that was released several months before Mike confronted his own alters.
- Paper is the first ever contestant to cast a vote in Season 4. However, his vote was not used as he gave it up to spin the wheel.
- Paper is the only contestant in Season 4 that has been up for elimination every time in the first 4 episodes with eliminations.
- Paper is technically the only season 1 character to have never won a challenge, since his victory in Aquatic Conflict was won by his alter Evil Paper.
- Paper is the first and last contestant to be eliminated before the finale, making him similar to Flower|Flower from BFDI.
- Also, neither of the two made it into Season 2 of their respective shows.
- Both also survived the first elimation when they were put up for them in Season 4 of their respective shows after previously being the first contestants to be eliminated in Season 1.
General
- In "The Great Escape", Paper's original design is used for the elimination icon, despite the fact that he had an updated one.
- Paper's first asset was clipart.[3]
- Paper seems to have a connection with pianos, mostly with them smashing onto him. This may imply that pianos crushing or smashing onto him are a part of his trauma.
- This connection first started in the first season's second episode, "A Lemony Lesson" as one crushed him while he was battling Knife during a tie-breaker, resulting in his elimination.
- He was thrown one when he rejoined in "Double Digit Desert".
- He summoned a piano against Evil Paper, causing him to be crushed whilst in his subconscious during "Inanimate Smackdown".
- When Paper respawned inside MeAfterlife in "Objects in Mirror", a piano spawned next to him, with Paper reacting in slight shock.
- According to "The Penultimate Poll", Paper is afraid of dolphins, which he says give him nightmares. This is because Knife threw a dolphin at him during the tiebreaker challenge of "A Lemony Lesson".
- Paper is the only Season 1 contestant to be on both teams.
- Paper is a fan of Warrior Cats, revealed in the anniversary stream on April 6th 2024.
- Paper is somewhere on the LGBTQ+ spectrum. His exact orientation is unknown, but he has been indirectly confirmed to be under the achillean (MLM) umbrella in "Objects in Mirror", and is dating OJ.[4]
- Paper and OJ are the second official couple in the series, after MePhone5S and MePhone5C.
- Paper is one of the few male contestants to have a high-pitched voice, the others being Balloon and Cherries.
- All of Paper's voice actors thus far have had first names that start with the letter J.
